CirseSound

(1958)

The CirseSound was the first Cirse projector with an integrated amplifier. It was the successor of the Cometson. It shared many aspects, such as the film transportation mechanism with the silent Missouri. It was widely admired and built a strong reputation, quite remarkable for a projector that was only produced for four years. Its production was discontinued by the end of 1962.  Its successor, the Silma Sonik 8 had been delayed by strikes in Italy and did not appear until 1963.

The Cirselux arc projector (1958) was for large hall projections. It was a Cirseound with a huge lamphouse containing a carbon arc lamp. The set included a rectifier for the arc supply (not in the picture below). It would show pictures up to about 7m. (22ft.) wide at a throw of 130ft. One pair of carbons would last about three reels. The price was about 750.000 Lire or £440.
