Comet

(1951)

The Comet, or actually the unbranded prototype was the first Cirse projector. Just like the Super Comet it was available in three formats: 8mm, 9,5mm and 16mm.

The first projector appeared in 1951. This was un unbranded prototype. There was no reference to Cirse or Comet on the projector.

Also in 1951, the Comet was introduced. This was the first Cirse projector with 'Comet' embossed at the base.

In 1954 the Comet appeared in a different finish, in both light and dark brown.

The Cirse Comet 16mm (below) is a very rare version of this projector. It was also made in a 9.5mm version. The Comet and Super Comet were the only Cirse projectors made in three different gauges. In front view it can be easily recognized by the wider sprockets.
