Cirse Sound 2

The name Cirse Sound 2 gives the impression that it was the successor of the famous CirseSound but they have nothing in common. The Silma Sonik 8 was the real successor of the Cirse sound. Soon after the distribution of the Cirse Sound 2, a duplicate appeared: the Silma Sound 2. Whether it was an alternative to the Cirse Sound 2 or replaced it altogether is not known. According to their ID plates, the Cirse was made in Torino and the Silma in Rivoli.

The Cirse Sound 2 was first advertised in 1964 but that was a prototype that was never distributed.

In the advert below, distribution of the Cirse Sound 2 would start on 28 January 1965. Manufacturing posssibly started in 1964 but there is no information about that.

Below is a part of Carlo Colombardo's Cirse Sound 2. This clearly illustrates the cooperation betweeen Cirse and Silma. According to the indentification plate, the projector was made in Torino but at least some projector parts were made at the Silma factory in Rivoli.
